Coach Joe has coached at MCC since Fall of 2022, coaching both the men's and women's soccer teams. 

Coach Joe holds an advanced national diploma from the United Soccer Coaches Organization, as well as a master's degree in Sport Management, adding a valuable blend of theoretical knowledge and practical expertise to his coaching arsenal.

Lopez places tremendous importance on fostering a positive family culture within the soccer program. He strongly believes that a supportive yet competitive environment is vital for the success and well-being of both individual players and the collective unit. By promoting cultural values such as respect, communication, teamwork, and resilience, Coach Joe aims to create an atmosphere where athletes can thrive both on and off the field. He recognizes the significance of building strong relationships among teammates and believes that a sense of unity and shared purpose within the team leads to exceptional performance.

Through open and transparent communication, he encourages the players to express their individuality while also instilling a sense of accountability and commitment towards team goals. They not only focus on developing technical and tactical skills but also emphasize the importance of spiritual growth, character development, and mental resilience.

With a deep understanding of the positive influence that team culture can have on performance, Coach Joe is committed to creating an environment where athletes feel valued, motivated, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a passion for nurturing a strong family culture to his role as a coach, Coach Joe's dedication to both the sport and the development of the students makes him an invaluable mentor and leader within the MCC family. 

Coach Joe is married to his wife Danielle, who attends Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
