Thunder Student-Athletes Serve on Mission Trip to the Philippines
For the past 10 days, Manhattan Christian College has served over in the Philippines on a mission trip. A number of the students who attended were Thunder student-athletes. They were running an educational/sports camp for the youth in the Philippines with a sport focus on basketball and volleyball. While teaching the youth about the game of basketball and volleyball, our student-athletes were active in service to the local community, spiritual growth of the young boys and girls by sharing the Gospel through sport and other activities, and transforming their relationship with Jesus Christ with worship, prayer, and Bible studies. We are grateful that MCC provides these opportunities to our student-athletes to be missionaries in other countries, while using sports as a platform to teach others about the Word of God and how He loves us. The following student-athletes represented MCC, athletics, and their respective team in the Philippines: Marcus Bauman (men's basketball), Grace Black (women's cross country/women's soccer), Damien Cervantes (men's soccer), Thomas Craig (men's cross country), Natalie Jensen (volleyball), Malachi Larsen (men's soccer), Tatum Milenski (women's basketball), and Cooper Slayton (men's soccer). Thank you to all of the people who helped make this possible for these student-athletes to serve for a great purpose.
