Recap: Thunder Men's Soccer Falls in Conference Opener to Central Bible
The Thunder men's soccer team would play their second soccer match in as many days on Monday night. This would be their Midwest Christian College Conference opener, as well as NCCAA Central Region opener, against the defending conference and region champions, the Central Bible University Saints. The Thunder would battle for the first 45 minutes as they would hold onto 0-0 tie into halftime. The Saints would break through in the 61st minute to break the tie and take a 1-0 lead. The Thunder would give up two more goals on the night to fall to the Saints, 3-0, in each team's conference and region opener. Sophomore, goalkeeper, Chase Powell would record 12 saves on the night for the Thunder as he would be faced with an attacking Saints offense. With the defeat, the Thunder fall to 0-2-0 overall and 0-1-0 in MCCC and Central Region play.
The Sons of Thunder will hit the road for the first time this season as they will travel to Iowa to play MCCC opponents, Emmaus University and Faith Baptist Bible College over the weekend.
