Recap: No. 2 Thunder Volleyball Trounces Union Adventist to Open NCCAA Central Region Play

Manhattan, Kan.

From start to finish the newly ranked #2 Thunder volleyball team would play dominate volleyball against the overmatched Union Adventist University Warriors. The Thunder would trounce the Warriors and hold them to single digit points in each set to earn another sweep (25-7, 25-7, 25-7). This would be the NCCAA Central Region opener for the Thunder. The stat sheet would be stuffed with team stats as they would have 18 service aces, only commit four attack errors, and hit 0.491 as a team. Freshman, Jordan Miller would have 12 kills on 18 attempts and no errors to hit a staggering 0.667 hitting percentage. Junior, Ellie Wilson would have 8 kills on 12 attempts and no errors and hit that same 0.667 percentage, while also recording five of those 18 service aces, and five digs. Fellow junior, Jayda Juenemann would have four kills and three solo blocks to pace both the offense and defense. Setters, Shaliah Ensley and Anja VonSpreckelsen would have 16 and eight assists, respectively, while VonSpreckelsen would additionally have three service aces. With the win, the Thunder are now 4-1 overall and 1-0 the Central Region.

The Thunder will play again at home on Thursday, September 10th at 4:00PM where they will start Midwest Christian College Conference play against the #5 ranked Emmaus University Eagles.
