Thunder Women's Golf Ready to Start Second Season
The Thunder women's golf team will start their second season of competition this Fall. They will still compete as individuals this season as you need five golfers to have a full team. Sophomore, Ruby Wendt will return for year two for the Thunder. The Manhattan native played in three events and completed five rounds in 2025. Wendt shot a season low 86 at the Central Kansas Classic last season, while have a stroke average of 93.00. She would go on to finish 11th at the NCCAA Central Region Tournament a year ago. Joining Wendt this season is freshman, Dixie Ribordy from Phoenix, Arizona. Ribordy prepped at Deer Valley High School in Glendale, Arizona.
First year Thunder head coach, Sam Clark, is ready for the season and for his two student-athletes to compete, "I am excited to kickstart our women's golf program with Ruby and Dixie! We have already had lots of fun in practice learning new techniques and they are ready for tournament play."
The two Thunder golfers will play their first round of the season on Monday, September 14th at the Cottey Fall Invitational hosted by Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri. The will play two rounds, one on Monday and the second on Tuesday, both at 9:00AM.
