The Thunder volleyball team would be at home for two games this weekend with a tough test on Friday night. They would have a rematch with the Sterling College Warriors, who defeated the Thunder 3-1 at the Thunder Invitational in August. The Warriors came into the match 9-0 and ranked #8 in the NCCAA Division I Coaches' Poll, while the Thunder are ranked #2 in the NCCAA Division II Coaches' Poll. The Thunder would battle back and forth in the first set, but would fall 25-21. The second and third sets would be all Warriors as they would earn the sweep of the Thunder giving them their second loss of the season. Freshman, Shaliah Ensley would have a double-double with 24 assists and 13 digs.

On Saturday afternoon, the Thunder would play their conference and region rival, the Ozark Christian College Ambassadors. After a tough match with the Warriors on Friday, the Thunder were looking to bounce back in a big way on Saturday. The Thunder would take command early and never look back as they would win the first two sets with ease. In the third set, the Ambassadors would take a 21-12 lead. The Thunder would finish the set on a 13-2 run and sweep the Ambassadors to extend their regular season conference win streak to 70 straight. Freshman, Jordan Miller would lead the offense with 15 kills, while junior, Ellie Wilson would have a double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs. Freshman, Kinley Edgerton would have an efficient day in the middle with nine kills on 0.600 hitting, while also collecting two solo blocks and a block assist. Jaiden Brewer and Malloree Matlack would anchor the defense with eight digs a piece. In splitting their two matches, the Thunder are now 8-2 overall, 4-0 in the MCCC, and 3-0 in the Central Region.

The Thunder will play their first road game of the season against the #6 ranked Spurgeon College Knights on Tuesday, September 22th at 6:00PM in Kansas City, Missouri.
