The Thunder volleyball team would be on the road for the first time this season and it would be against a ranked opponent. The #2 ranked Thunder would travel to Kansas City, Missouri to face the #10 ranked Spurgeon College Knights on Tuesday night. This would be their first road match of the season as they would play their first 10 matches in the friendly confines of the Howie's Activity Center. In the first set, the Thunder started off by settling in nicely leading 17-11; however, the Knights would finish the set by going on 14-5 run to take the first set from the Thunder. The Thunder would bounce back in the second set and win 25-22 as it was tight for most of the set. After tying up the match, the Thunder would dominate the third and fourth set and overcome the Knights' first set win to take the match, 3-1. Junior, Ellie Wilson would have a career night with 24 kills and only three attack errors on 48 attempts to lead the offense, while collecting another double-double with 16 digs on defense. Freshman, Kinley Edgerton would have another good night in the middle after doing the same last week with nine kills and hitting 0.476 from her middle position. Jaiden Brewer, Malloree Matlack, and Natalie Jensen would also anchor the defense with Wilson as they all combined for 41 of the teams 79 digs, while sophomore, Katie Drake would have five block assists. The Thunder improve to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in the NCCAA Central Region.

The Thunder will be back at home to play against the Calvary University Warriors on Saturday, September 26th at 1:00PM back in the Howie's Activity Center.
