The Thunder men's soccer team would be back on the field on Tuesday afternoon with a non-conference/non-region match with the Ecclesia College Royals. This match would start and end with constant rain. The Thunder would strike first with a goal from senior, Chris Smith II only 4 minutes into the match. The Royals would tie the match up before halftime going into the final 45 minutes with the score 1-1. Just under under halfway through the second half, the Royals would capitalize on a Thunder mistake to take a 2-1 lead. The Thunder would have many chances in the second half, as they took six shots, but could not connect on any of those. Sophomore, Chase Powell would also have 10 saves on the afternoon. With the loss, the Thunder drop to 1-7-1 on the season.

The Sons of Thunder will have another home match on Friday, October 2nd against NCCAA Central Region opponent, the Union Adventist Warriors at 2:00PM at Frank Anneberg Park in Manhattan, Kansas.
