Thunder Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2024

Manhattan, Kan.

Manhattan Christian College Thunder Athletics and our Hall of Fame committee is thrilled to announce the Hall of Fame Class of 2024. This year's inductee is Pat Theobald ('76), who played and coached for the then Crusaders from 1972-1976 and 1976-1982. Theobald was a three-time Midwest Christian College Conference All-Conference player and was named conference MVP in his senior season. As a junior, the 1974-75 Crusader team would win the MCCC Tournament and finish the season with a 19-6 record. In his senior season, Theobald would average 21.8 points per game, which is the third highest scoring average in a season in program history. Theobald would play in 54 career games for the Crusaders scoring 1,109 career points giving him the second highest points per game average in a career in program history at 20.5 points per game. He also ranks in the top-15 of two career statistical categories in program history with 487 field goals made, which ranks 15th, and free throw percentage at 77.1%, which ranks 11th. After Theobald's playing career, he would jump straight into coaching as he was the head coach of the Crusaders from 1976-82. He would win 62 games as the head coach, coach three MCCC All-Conference players, and capture the 1980 MCCC Tournament championship.

Theobald joins Rick Wright ('76), Jim Steelman ('94), Ryan Kluttz ('09), Greg Klass ('09), Kylie (Rupe) Shipley ('14), who were in the inaugural Hall of Fame Class of 2022, as well as, Angie (Epps) Bates ('05) and Katie (Wright) Cardenas ('10), who were in the Class of 2023.

Pat will be honored at the Vision 360 Banquet on April 11th at Howie's Activity Center on the campus of Manhattan Christian College.
