Thunder Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025
Manhattan Christian College Thunder Athletics and our Hall of Fame committee is thrilled to announce the Hall of Fame Class of 2025. This year, we will have the first team inducted into the Hall of Fame. The 2005 Crusader Men's Soccer team will be the first ever team inducted into the MCC Thunder Athletics Hall of Fame. The Crusader men's soccer team would finish the 2005 season with a 18-2-2 overall record. They were Midwest Christian College Conference Regular Season and Tournament Champions, NCCAA Regional Champions, and NCCAA Division II National Champions. They would win the conference tournament by beating Ozark Christian College. They would win the regional tournament with a win over Central Bible College and they ended the season by taking down Cincinnati Christian University to claim the title of National Champions. This would be the first of three national championships the men's soccer program would win. MCC Hall of Famer, Greg Klass, and Jared Stafos would be named to the NCCAA/NSCAA All-American Team, while David Ham, Dustin Schultz, and Luke Wright would be Honorable Mention All-Americans. Klass, Stafos, Ham, Schultz, and Jonah Nelson would make the All-Tournament Team.
The 2005 team consisted of 22 players, two managers, and three coaches. They are as follows: Joel Keller, Mitch Diemer, Kevin Diemer, Zach Michaelis, Greg Klass, Jared Stafos, Kirk Rodell, Cory Tubbs, Jonah Nelson, Shawn Perry, Josh Tedder, John Richardson, Joel Keck, Luke Wright, Josh Trotter, Clint Bowles, Matt Young, Anders Herpolsheimer, Bryan Dunham, David Ham, Dustin Schultz, Chad Hannigan, manager Jacob Russell and Jennifer Miller, assistant coaches, Eric Ingmire, Jeff Sagestetter, and head coach, Dr. Rick Wright.
The 2005 Men's Soccer team joins their head coach, Dr. Rick Wright ('76), Jim Steelman ('94), Ryan Kluttz ('09), Greg Klass ('09), Kylie (Rupe) Shipley ('14), who were in the inaugural Hall of Fame Class of 2022, Angie (Epps) Bates ('05) and Katie (Wright) Cardenas ('10), who were in the Class of 2023, and Pat Theobald ('76), who was in the Class of 2024.
The 2005 team will be honored at the Vision 360 Banquet on April 10th, 2026 at Howie's Activity Center on the campus of Manhattan Christian College.
