Recap: Thunder Cross Country Runs at the Warrior Invitational
The Thunder cross country team would have an evening race on Friday as they would travel to Sterling, Kansas to run in the Warrior Invitational hosted by Sterling College. Grace Black and Emily Forshee would again be the two runners on the women's team to run. Black would finish 8th out of 12 runners, beat her time from a week ago, and run 26:03 in her second race of the season. Forshee would set a personal best and knock off 11 seconds from last weeks time and finish with a 28:39 5k. On the men's side, the Thunder would compete, finish, and score as a team for the first time since 2014. Freshman, Elijah Wasson would pace the men as he would finish 16th out of 27 runners with a 35:24 8k. Sophomore, Thomas Craig would finish 20th and improve his time by 44 seconds from race one to race two and run his 8k in 35:50, while freshman, Jack Keesecker would set a personal best with a 36:50 time.
The Thunder cross country teams will have a little break before competing again and will run at the Carol Swenson Invite on Friday, October 9th hosted by McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas with the race starting at 5:30PM.
