Recap: Men's Soccer Shuts Out Conference Rival Ozark Christian

Manhattan, Kan.

The Thunder men's soccer team took on Midwest Christian College Conference rival, Ozark Christian, in a Saturday afternoon match where they would shut out the Ambassadors, 4-0, to get their second win in conference play. The Thunder were led by sophomore, Chris Smith II with two goals and one assist. His first goal would come off a penalty kick early in the first half. Junior, Josue Silverio and freshman, Steven Byrd would score one goal a piece for the Thunder to round off the scoring. Senior, Hagan Dyer and freshman, Jacob Bencze would combine for the shut out in goal. With the win, the Thunder are now 3-6-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the MCCC.

The Sons of Thunder will take on the #10 ranked Spurgeon College Knights in a NCCAA Central Region match on Tuesday, October 1st at 1:00 PM at Frank Anneberg Park. These two met in Kansas City, Missouri in early September where the Thunder would fall to the Knights, 3-2.
