Recap: Thunder Soccer Splits with Knights
The Thunder men's soccer team had the opportunity to start off the double header in Kansas City, Missouri this morning against the Spurgeon College Knights. The Thunder jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the half, but would give up 3 goals in the second to fall to the Knights, 3-2. This NCCAA Central Region defeat moves the Thunder to 1-2-0 overall.
The Sons of Thunder have a quick turnaround as they travel to Springfield, Missouri tomorrow to take on the Mission University Patriots at 1:00 PM at Allison Sports Town.
The afternoon match of the double header gave our Thunder women's soccer team its first win of the season, a 2-1 victory over the Spurgeon College Knights. This win was the first for the Thunder women's team since the 2020-21 season, when they defeated Arlington Baptist, 3-1. This NCCAA Central Region win provides great momentum for the second half of the season.
The Thunder will have 13 days before their next match. They will travel to Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa to face the Beavers on Thursday, September 19th at 2:00 PM at J. Leslie Rollins Stadium & Peterson Field.
