The Thunder men's soccer team would continue Midwest Christian College Conference play over the weekend on the road. They would travel to Iowa to play the Emmaus University Eagles on Friday. After being held scoreless in their first two matches of the season, the Thunder would erupt for five goals against the Eagles to earn their first win of the season. The Thunder would strike first as Riuben Basubeche would score just under five minutes into the contest for his first goal of the season. Over the next 25 minutes, the Thunder would score three more goals to take a 4-0 lead. The Eagles would not go away as they would score two goals before the half. The Thunder would prevail a hold on to defeat the Eagles, 5-4. Basubeche would score another goal to finish with two on the evening, while Chris Smith II would have two goals and an assist. Redshirt-freshman, Alessandro Delgado would score his first career goal in the contest as well. Head coach, Scott Blake would earn his first career collegiate win at Manhattan Christian.

On Saturday, the Thunder were looking to build off of Blake's first victory as head coach taking on the #6 ranked Faith Baptist Bible College Eagles. The Thunder would hold the Eagles scoreless in the first half, but five second half goals by the Eagles would give them the victory, 5-0. In two matches, goalkeeper, Chase Powell would collect 18 saves. As they split matches in Iowa, the Thunder are now 1-3-0 overall and 1-2-0 in MCCC play. 

The Sons of Thunder will continue their road swing as they will travel to Overland Park, Kansas to play the Kansas Christian College Falcons on Tuesday, September 15th at 1:00PM.
