Thunder Men's Soccer Opens MCCC Play

Manhattan, Kan.

The Thunder men's soccer team is fresh off of their season opener and in match two, the Sons of Thunder will open Midwest Christian College Conference play at home against the Central Bible University Saints. Central Bible University is the formerly named Central Christian College of the Bible. Of the six matches that the Thunder played last season, three of them were MCCC matches. They would go 0-2-1 in those three completed matches. This is also their NCCAA Central Region opener as well and they would only play three of those matches finishing 0-3-0 in completed matches. The Saints were MCCC Regular Season and Tournament Champions, as well as Central Region Tournament Champions and advanced to the NCCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament. The Thunder will have their hands full with the defending conference and region champions, but they are ready for the opportunity to compete.

Head coach Scott Blake had this to say about opening conference and region play at home, "We have got a quick turnaround from our game on Saturday and it looks like it will be another extremely hot one once again. We look forward to hosting CBU at home after their very successful 2025 campaign as they went to the National Tournament. I am sure they will be a quality team and I am looking forward to a conference and region schedule full of great competition."

The Sons of Thunder will kickoff against the Saints on Monday, September 7th at 6:00PM at Frank Anneberg Park in Manhattan, Kansas.
