Thunder Women's Basketball Announces 2026 Recruiting Class

Manhattan, Kan.

The 2026 NCCAA Central Region Tournament Champion Thunder women's basketball team and the staff have completed their 2026 recruiting class and have signed five total newcomers that include all transfers, two junior college transfers and three NAIA transfers. The newest Thunder women's basketball student-athletes are:

TRANSFERS

Shamaya Brown - 5'6, Senior, Guard - Central Christian College (KS)

Played for the Tigers from 2023-26. As a junior in 2025-26, Brown played in 23 games, while starting in one for the Tigers. Brown averaged 12.7 minutes per game and 2.1 points on 33.3% shooting from the field, including 29.2% from the 3-point line, togo along with 1.1 rebounds and 0.5 assists. She also shot 66.7% from the free throw line. Has played in 68 career games, while scoring 135 points and grabbing 91 rebounds. Prepped at Bibb County High School in Centreville, Alabama.

Paige Corter - 5'7, Redshirt-Freshman, Forward - Cowley College (KS)

Did not play in 2025-26 for the Tigers. Prepped at Flinthills High School in Rosalia, Kansas.

Alexandria "Mimi" Craig - 5'9, Senior, Center - Central Christian College (KS)

Played for the Tigers from 2023-26. As a junior in 2025-26, Craig played in 27 games, while starting in 17 for the Tigers. Craig averaged 14.1 minutes per game and 2.6 points on 43.1% shooting from the field, including 25.0% from the 3-point line, to go along with 1.8 rebounds. She also shot 100.0% from the free throw line. Has played in 67 career games, while scoring 130 points and grabbing 102 rebounds. Prepped at Canton-Galva High School in Canton, Kansas.

Boston Tyler - 5'10, Sophomore, Forward - Central Christian College (KS)

Played for the Tigers in 2025-26. As a freshman in 2025-26, Tyler played in 14 games for the Tigers. Tyler averaged 11.4 minutes per game and 1.9 points on 31.3% shooting from the field, including 26.7% from the 3-point line, to go along with 1.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists. She also shot 37.5% from the free throw line. Prepped at Midlothian Heritage High School in Midlothian, Texas.

Samiya Worrell - 5'6, Redshirt-Freshman, Guard - Colby Community College (KS)

Did not play in 2025-26 for the Trojans. Prepped at Bluestem High School in Leon, Kansas.

 

First year Thunder head coach Brad Willems had this to say about his most recent recruiting class, "We are returning six ladies and we are bringing in five ladies for this years team. It is a good mixture of transfers and first year players. I am really excited to get them to Manhattan and get to work together! Looking forward to competing and getting better every day!"

The Thunder will tip off their season on the road in an exhibition against Southwestern College on Monday, October 26th in Winfield, Kansas.
