Recap: #3 Volleyball Captures NCCAA Central Region Tournament Title; Earns Automatic Bid to National Tournament

Kansas City, Mo.

The Thunder volleyball team traveled to Kansas City, Missouri for the NCCAA Central Region Tournament looking to earn an automatic bid to the NCCAA National Tournament. The Thunder would enter the tournament as the #1 seed and would earn a bye into the semifinals. The Thunder would make quick work of the #4 seed Central Christian College of the Bible by sweeping the Saints (25-13, 25-8, 25-8) on Thursday evening. This would earn them a spot in the championship match today at 11:00 AM. The Thunder would matchup with the #3 seed Calvary University, who upset the #2 seed Spurgeon College on Thursday. This would be the fourth time the Thunder and Warriors would meet this season. The Thunder would come out victorious in all four matches by way of sweep (25-15, 25-19, 25-19) leading to the Thunder to their third region championship in a row. The Thunder move to 24-5 overall and will await their matchup for the 2024 NCCAA Volleyball National Tournament.

The Thunder will head to Joplin, Missouri for the NCCAA National Tournament, which is hosted by Ozark Christian College, with pool play starting on Wednesday, November 20th. All tournament information can be found at thenccaa.org.
