Sanders Family Strength Center Opening

SFSC 2
Manhattan, Kan.

Manhattan Christian College Athletics is thrilled to announce the opening of the Sanders Family Strength Center, a weight room designed for our student athletes and our campus as a whole.

This is the first weight room facility available to our student athletes on campus and is a much needed addition to our programs. The teams will be able to gather together and work on building strength, injury prevention and rehabilitation. The campus as a whole will be able to use the facility as well.

"This is an exciting time for MCC Athletics and the MCC campus. To be able to provide this space that is much needed for our athletes and our campus. It is truly a blessing! We are looking forward to seeing our teams get to work!" said Lauren Sanders, Athletic Director.

MCC Athletics would like to thank all of the donors who gave to the Thunder Strong project. Special thanks to the Sanders family for their donation to kickstart the project. Ray and Lauren Sanders have been long time supporters of MCC Athletics. The Sanders have coached the volleyball team for the past 17 years. Ray is an alumni of MCC and has helped in numerous areas of athletics since he was a student. You will often hear him on the game day broadcast of the MCC Basketball teams.

We would also like to thanks Aaron and Angie Bates for their generous donation towards the equipment in the strength center. The Bates' are both basketball alumni, participating in the early 2000's. The Bates family have been constant supporters of MCC and we are grateful for their support.

There are a few projects left to finish furnishing the weight room, MCC Athletics is still looking for a few more donations to finalize everything. If you would like to partner with us on this exciting project you can donate online here: THUNDER STRONG CAMPAIGN - Restricted Fund - Weight Room.
