Thunder are Excited for Postseason Play

Manhattan, Kan.

The Thunder women's basketball team has completed their regular season with 11 wins, the most since the 2017-18 season when they won 20 games, and are looking to make a run in the postseason. The Thunder are the four seed in the Midwest Christian College Conference Tournament and the in NCCAA Central Region Tournament. The MCCC Tournament seeds are as follows:

#1 Ozark Christian

#2 Faith Baptist Bible

#3 Barclay

#4 Manhattan Christian

#5 Calvary

#6 Central Christian College of the Bible

#7 Emmaus

Manhattan Christian College will be hosting the MCCC Tournament on campus at Howie's Activity Center. The Thunder will play in the quarterfinal game against the five seed Calvary on Thursday, February 20th at 6:00 PM. Depending on the Thursday result, the Thunder will play the one seed, Ozark Christian on Friday, February 21st with a win, but in a loss, they would not play until Saturday, February 22nd in a consolation game.

The NCCAA Central Region Tournament will be hosted at Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Missouri for the semifinal game and the highest seed remaining will host the championship game. The Central Region Tournament seeds are as follows:

#1 Calvary

#2 Central Christian College of the Bible

#3 Manhattan Christian

#4 Barclay

#5 Kansas Christian (will not attend tournament)

#6 Union Adventist (will not attend tournament)

The Thunder will play the host and the two seed Central Christian College of the Bible in the semi-final game. This game will be on Wednesday, February 26th at 5:00 PM at the Ferneau Center on the campus of Central Christian College of the Bible. The championship match will be at a to be determined time on Friday, February 28th at the site of the highest remaining seed.

Head coach Dalton Miller is excited for postseason play, "I'm incredibly proud of our group and how we've come together this season, especially as of late finding ways to finish games that we weren't able to finish early on. Throughout the season we continued to grow and improve and I believe it has been evident in how we have played over the last couple of weeks. I speak for my entire team when I say we are excited for postseason play. It's a new season, we will continue to take it one game at a time excited for each opportunity to compete."
