Ellendale, N.D.

The #10 ranked Thunder women's basketball team traveled to Ellendale, North Dakota to play their fifth game in seven days against Trinity Bible College. The Thunder were coming off a strong weekend by winning two conference games. The Thunder and Lions played earlier in the year at the Faith Classic where the Lions would prevail, 73-67. In Monday's game, the Thunder would fall behind 8-0 early, but would go on a 11-2 run to take the lead with 2:53 left in the first quarter. The Lions would finish the first quarter with a one point lead. After 20 minutes, the Thunder would trail 35-27 with one half of basketball remaining. The closest the Thunder would get is within seven points with 1:22 left in the third quarter. In the fourth, the Lions would outscore the Thunder by five and defeat the Thunder for the second time this season, 71-57. Redshirt-junior, Nekayla Williams would have a monster game with 26 points on 10-19 shooting from the field, to go along with 10 rebounds and two blocks to earn a double-double. No one else would score in double figures for the Thunder, as freshman, Jasmine Holloway would be the next highest scorer with seven points. The Thunder would shoot 36.5% from the field, 21.4% from the three-point line, and 55.2% from the free throw line. With the loss, the Thunder are now 12-12.

The Thunder will play again on Friday, February 13th in their final conference/region game against Central Christian College of the Bible at home at 5:00PM.
