Recap: Thunder Women's Basketball Overmatched in Exhibition Against Metropolitan State

Denver, Colo.

The Thunder women's basketball team would play one last game in 2025 and this one would be an exhibition against Metropolitan State University of Denver. The Thunder would fall behind 28-12 after one quarter and the Roadrunners would use a 37 point second quarter to take a 65-19 lead into the half. Another 30 point quarter for the Roadrunners would put the Thunder away. The Thunder would score 20 points in the fourth quarter, but would ultimately fall, 121-49. Freshman, Jasmine Holloway would play all 40 minutes and lead the Thunder with 18 points while going 7-7 from the free throw line. Fellow freshman, Tahlia Morris would have 15 points for the Thunder, while sophomore, Macayla Hines chipped in with six points, five assists, and four steals. Since this was an exhibition game, the Thunder finish 2025 with a 5-8 record.

The Thunder will play again in 2026 when they travel to Illinois to play Aurora University on Monday, January 5th at 1:00PM.
