Recap: No. 7 Seed Thunder Women's Basketball Concludes Season at NCCAA National Tournament

St. Bonifacius, Minn.

The #7 seed Thunder women's basketball team would take the floor one more time for the 2025-26 season in a consolation game against the #8 seed Providence University College Pilots. The Thunder and Pilots would be in a close game after one quarter with the Pilots holding the lead 17-12. The Pilots would just out all over the Thunder in the second quarter outscoring them by 14 to take a 41-22 lead into halftime. Another tough scoring quarter for the Thunder would find them behind 30 headed into the final quarter of play. The Thunder would outscore the Pilots, 22-15 in the fourth, but their struggle to get their offense going in the second and third quarters would be too much to come back from. Redshirt-junior, Nekayla Williams would have a monster double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds, while the freshman duo of Tahlia Morris and Jasmine Holloway would have 11 and 10 points, respectively. The Thunder would shoot 27.8% from the field, 13.2% from the three-point line, and 47.4% from the free throw line.

The Thunder have concluded their season with a 17-15 record, a 6-4 Midwest Christian College Conference record, and a 5-3 mark in the region. They would finish as the runner-up in the MCCC and NCCAA Central Region Tournament Champions.
