White named NCCAA GP4L Character Award Winner

JW
Greenville, S.C.

Jordan White was one of the pillars of the men's basketball program over the last four years on and off the floor. On Thursday night at the NCCAA Hall of Fame banquet he earned one final accolade for the Thunder as he was named the NCCAA's male winner of the Game Plan 4 Life Character Award. He is the first GP4L Character Award winner in school history.

The NCCAA winner of the GP4L Character Award is selected from a pool of sport winners from the previous academic year. White was named the winner of the 2023 NCCAA DII Men's Basketball Pete Maravich award, which is given to the student-athlete that best represents Christ, his school and his sport.

During his career White won four Conference championships, three Conference Tournament championships, one Region title, advanced to two Final Fours and made it to the National Championship game this season. He scored over 1,000 career points, earned All-American honors twice, won Conference MVP honors twice and is a two time Scholar Athlete. Off the court, however, is where he earned a reputation as Christ-follower who isn't afraid to live out his faith. He served on MCC Camp Teams, worked in Manhattan with Young Life, served on a missions trip to Greece, served in his hometown of Topeka with Doxazo Ministries and held a summer internship with Oakley Christian Church where he worked with the youth.

"I have said this so many times, but I'm proud of Jordan and what he meant to our program and our school. There are so many memories that I have of Jordan and his teammates on the floor, but what I'll appreciate and remember about Jordan the most is that he's just a winner. On the floor he was driven to win and help his teammates succeed, but right along with that he was motivated off the floor to build relationships and bring people closer to Christ. We'll miss Jordan and his teammates next season," commented Head Men's Basketball Coach Jordan Strom.

Congratulations, Jordan White!
