Recap: Men's Soccer Suffer Defeat Against #6 Barclay

Manhattan, Kan.

The Thunder men's soccer team was back in action at Frank Anneberg Park where they would host a nationally ranked and Midwest Christian Conference foe in the Barclay College Bears. The Thunder fell behind early and suffered defeat from the #6 ranked Bears, 5-2, on Tuesday afternoon. The Bears would be up 3-0 before a penalty kick goal by junior, Lucas Kaneko would cut the lead down to two to end the first half. The Thunder would tack on a goal late in the second half off a free kick by sophomore, Khamani Matallah that was headed in by freshman, Zachary Burns. With the defeat, the Thunder fall to 3-8-1 overall and 2-2-0 in the MCCC.

The Sons of Thunder will resume a match tomorrow, October 9th against the Union Adventist University Warriors that was postposed on August 27th due to inclement weather. The match will resume with roughly 30 minutes remaining in the first half at 3:00 PM at Frank Anneberg Park.
