Recap: Men's Soccer Tie in Continuation Match with Union Adventist
In a continuation match from August 27th, the Thunder men's soccer team would tie with the visitors from Union Adventist University, 3-3. The match would pick up as a 1-1 tie 15-minutes into the first half. The solo goal scored almost two months ago was by junior, Chris Smith II. This back and forth affair would see the Thunder fall behind twice before matching the Warriors with a goal of their own. The second goal of the afternoon came off of a beautiful free kick strike from 50 yards out by sophomore, Khamani Matallah and then the final goal would be scored off a handball penalty kick by Smith II for his second goal of the contest. With the tie in this NCCAA Central Region match, the Thunder move to 3-8-2 on the season and 1-4-2 in region play.
The Sons of Thunder have nine days before they play their final home game of the season on Friday, October 18th against Midwest Christian College Conference and Central Region opponent, the Central Christian College of the Bible Saints, at 7:00 PM at Frank Anneberg Park.
