Thunder Volleyball Primed for Another Undefeated Regular Season
The Thunder volleyball team will open Midwest Christian College Conference play on Friday night when they travel to Belton, Missouri to take on the Calvary University Warriors. Heading into the 2024 season, the Thunder are on a 48-match MCCC regular season win streak dating back to the 2018-19 season. The Thunder and Warriors played each other four times last season, two regular season matches and two postseason matches with both postseason matches being in the MCCC Tournament Championship and NCCAA Central Region Championship, respectively. Coming off their fifth straight undefeated conference regular season, the Thunder are primed for another undefeated regular season and a sixth regular season and tournament title. A 10-game conference slate is scheduled for the Thunder.
Head coach Lauren Sanders is excited to start conference play, "The team is continuing to come together and we are looking forward to conference play. With three teams ranked nationally in the NCCAA last season in our conference, we are looking forward to the competition while continuing our winning streak. Opening conference play with Calvary will be a good challenge for us!"
Friday's match will start at 7:00 PM at The Pyramid Athletic Center at Calvary University.
