For the second consecutive year a graduate of the Men's Basketball team will move on to compete for Kansas State University. 2023 graduate, Taymont Lindsey, has committed to compete for the Wildcats after a standout career at Manhattan Christian College. During his four years for the Thunder, Lindsey became the 29th member of the 1,000 point club while helping his team to four consecutive conference titles, two NCCAA Final Four appearances and one trip to the national championship game. Lindsey earned multiple including being named to the NCCAA All-Tournament team twice and earning All-Conference honors twice.
"This opportunity couldn't have happened to a better young man. Taymont is a tremendous representative of our program and Manhattan Christian College and I know that he'll be able to step in at K-State and fill a leadership role with his teammates. I couldn't be more proud of Taymont and I can't wait to see where this opportunity leads him," commented Head Coach Jordan Strom.
Lindsey and his K-State teammates will open up this coming season on November 6th vs USC in Las Vegas, NV and will look to compete for a championship in the new look Big XII. You can read the full press release from K-State Athletics right here.
The Thunder will open their season on November 3rd when they head to the Classic for Christ on the campus of Central Christian College (KS). You can see the MCC Schedule in its entirety right here.
Adam Gage is entering his third season with the Manhattan Christian men's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach and will begin his second year as the Assistant Athletic Director.
During the 2024-25 season, the Thunder increased their win total by six going 23-13 (11-1, 9-1). They would claim both the Midwest Christian College Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championship, while earning an at-large bid to the 2025 NCCAA National Tournament where they would make a Final Four appearance.
In the 2023-24 season, the Thunder finished the season with a 17-13 (12-0, 6-4) overall record and won the Midwest Christian College Conference regular season title.
During the 2022-23 season, Gage spent his time with in-state institution, Emporia State University, under head coach Craig Doty. The Hornets won 23 games and earned a bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament where they won a NCAA Tournament game for the first time in program history. Gage assisted in skill development, scouting, recruiting, academic monitoring, and program operations.
Prior to his arrival in Emporia, Gage spent a season as Director of Operations at NCAA Division I member Georgia Southern University. Before moving to Georgia, Gage spent two seasons as a Graduate Assistant/Manager of Basketball Operations at NCAA Division I member Morehead State. He assisted in leading the Eagle program to prominence in 2020-21, winning the program's first Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship in 10 years and leading the Eagles to the NCAA Tournament with a 23-8 record.
Gage came to Morehead State by way of the College of Central Florida where he served as a volunteer assistant with the men's basketball team under Head Coach Tim Ryan.
A native of Beverly Hills, FL, Gage attended Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL. In his four years at FGCU, he was a student manager and was a part of two Atlantic Sun Conference regular season title teams and two tournament championship teams.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science in 2018, while earning his Master’s Degree in Sport Management at Morehead State in 2021.
Adam and his wife, Maddi, who is the Director of On-Campus Recruiting for K-State Football, live in Manhattan with their daughter, Brynleigh.
Thunder Athletics and fifth year head coach Jordan Strom are happy to announce the upcoming 2023-24 Men's Basketball schedule. Last year Manhattan Christian College had a huge season, making deep runs in the post season at the Southwest Region Tournament and as well as the NCCAA DII National Tournament. This year they are looking forward to build off a great 2022-23 season and make a push to the National Tournament once again.
MCC has a jammed packed schedule, starting off November 3 & 4 at the Central Christian College Classic for Christ in McPherson, KS where they will play Sterling College and host team Central Christian College. The Thunder will open home play Friday November 10 against CCC and then will host McPherson College the next day (Saturday, November 11).
First semester games will consist of a handful of DII schools and NAIA teams on the road until returning home for a 4 game home stand starting December 1 with Randall University. Spurgeon College, Trinity Bible College and Avila College will be the final home games before going into Christmas break.
The Midwest Christian College Conference schedule will start play January 12 for the Thunder on the road in Ankeny, IA for the MCCC midseason conference classic where they will play Emmaus Bible College and Faith Baptist Bible College. January 20 will be the first home game of the new year when MCC will host Central Christian College of the Bible before going back on the road for their next three games against Barclay College, Ozark Christian and Calvary University. The season will come to a close with a five game homestand before heading into the conference tournament.
"We're excited to get back on the court this season. The schedule we have in place is a challenging one, but we believe that it will only make us stronger as we move through the season towards conference and region tournament" stated Coach Strom.
MCCC Tournament will start February 22-24 hosted by Faith Baptist followed by the newly formed Central Region Tournament on February 29.
