Thunder Women's Basketball Earns Two All-MCCC Selections
The Thunder women's basketball team finished as the runner-up in the 2026 Midwest Christian College Conference Tournament this past weekend, and they would also have some individual honors on the weekend. The Thunder had two players represented on the MCCC All-Conference teams. Redshirt-junior, forward, Nekayla Williams would earn a first-team nod for the Thunder. Williams was a second-team all-conference performer in 2025. Williams would play and start in eight of the 10 regular season conference games. She would average 12.8 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game, and shot 76.2% from the free throw line in 23.9 minutes per game in conference games only. Sophomore, guard, Macayla Hines would earn a honorable mention honor for the Thunder. Hines was all-conference honorable mention in 2025 as well. Hines would play in all 10 regular season conference games, while starting in eight. She would average 10.2 points per game on 46.3% shooting from the field and 36.8% shooting from the three-point line, to go along with 6.7 rebounds per game, 3.8 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per game in 37.3 minutes per game in conference games only.
The Thunder will play in and host the NCCAA Central Region Tournament on Thursday, February 26th against the two seed the Calvary University Warriors. This game will be at 4:00PM at the Howie's Activity Center in Manhattan, Kansas.
