Three Thunder Women's Basketball Players Represented on All-Region Teams

Manhattan, Kan.

The Thunder women's basketball entered the 2025 NCCAA Central Region Tournament as the three seed and took down the host and two seed Central Christian College of the Bible on Wednesday night to advance to the Central Region Championship game. The Thunder had three players represented on the Central Region All-Ronference teams. Junior, forward, Nekayla Williams, who was a second-team All-Midwest Christian College Conference, would earn a first-team all-region honor. Williams would play in all 10 regular season region games, while starting in four. She would average 12.4 points per game, 7.7 rebounds per game, 1.1 steals per game, 1.1 blocks per game, and shot 64.0% from the free throw line in region games only. Freshman, guard, Macayla Hines, who was honorable mention All-MCCC, would earn a second-team all-region nod for the Thunder. Hines would play in nine regular season region games, while starting in seven. She would average 10.1 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game, and 1.7 steals per game in region games only. Freshman, guard, Elayna Wegner would be the final Thunder player honored as she earned a honorable mention nod. Wegner would play in all 10 regular season region games, while starting in nine. She would average 6.9 points per game, 6.3 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game, and 1.9 steals per game in region games only.

The Thunder will play in the NCCAA Central Region Tournament Championship on Friday, February 28th against the one seed the Calvary Warriors. This game will be at 6:00 PM at the Pyramid Athletic Center in Belton, Missouri.
